Museum of the Messiah: The Manger

In the second lesson in this series I talked about the significance of the manger Jesus was placed in (Luke 2:1-12). The manger signifies the humility of Jesus-

  • Even though He was God He chose to become human (Philippians 2:5-8).
  • Even though He was King He chose to identify with the lowly (Luke 1: 1:46-53; 4:18; 9:57-58).
  • Even though He was the Shepherd He accepted treatment as one of the sheep (Micah 5:2-4; Isaiah 53:6-7; John 10:11-15).

  1. Is that an authoritative a implies b or are there other accepted meaning of the manger?

  2. Good question. On one hand the formal logical argument was A implies B. But as to how authoritative my observations are, that is a wholly different matter! :-) I will say that none of these observations are unique to my study.
